Club Sailing 20/06/21 Club regatta

A big thank you to everyone who came along and raced on Sunday in the Club Regatta, and to Deborah and Paul, who volunteered as OOD and SBO respectively, so that as many sailors could get out on the water as possible. Over the four races we saw some excellent racing and some of the most competitive starts at the club in recent years. The racing took place in a shifty light breeze that demanded constant attention from sailors.

Toby is this year's champion having taken a clean sweep of four race wins. A big shout out must also go to Sophie who took part in her first club races during the afternoon, while also sailing one of the club's racing Optimists for the first time, and having only been taught how to race the previous day during the club's junior training. Sophie finished a remarkable 4th in the final race of the day!

Next Sunday will be the 4th, 5th, and 6th races of the fifteen race long Summer Series. After the first weekend's racing Keith, with Chris as crew, leads the series. All timings will be back to normal with the morning race at 11.30, and the afternoon races starting at 14.00.
