    Storm Malik clean up

Thanks to all those who turned up at Grassholme this morning to assess the damage and tidy up after Storm Malik. Driving from Durham James and I feared the worst as we passed fallen trees, broken fences and general detritus spread across the road. On arrival we found Mark, Ellie and Dave already busy, and we were soon joined by Calum, Chris, James B and Keith. Everyone got stuck in and we soon had everything

    Virtual Regatta 2022 Week 4

We are well accustomed to GBR6572 sailing away with the first places in Virtual Regatta so it was a bit of a surprise when races one and two this week went to Wavebaron. He did admit that one of them was a complete fluke. Having taken the unfavoured side of the second beat a massive wind shift and pressure change saw him rocket from last to first. It was an advantage that he did not

    Virtual Regatta 2022 Week 3

We visited Bermuda this week and experienced some high winds sailing in J70 keel-boats which gave the fleet some great head to head racing. The racing gods however had other ideas when it came to race 3 and we found ourselves in somewhat overpowered America's Cup boats which resulted in many of our fleet hitting marks and clocking up a number of penalties in the shortest fastest race we have competed in to date. Maybe

    Virtual Regatta 2022 Week 1

We don't have to wait for the weather at Grassholme to improve to get some competitive racing in. Using Virtual Regatta we launched our first 4 races of the new year. It was fairly clear who had been practicing using VR and who had not with Toby, James and Ian clinching the podium positions after the first round or races. We are looking forward to some more close racing next week. Thanks to Toby for

    Grassholme from the air

We had a drone up at the club last Sunday and it got some great shots of Grassholme from the air, hopefully we will be able to do a re run next season on a sunny day with boats out on the lake.

    Working party day 2

Once again huge thanks to everyone at the work party today. Huge amount achieved and its looking very tidy for the end of the season. I think James's chainsaw only stopped during the day to get refuelled or sharpened with a team constantly doing tip runs to clear the brash or top up the log store. The top shed has been cleared with hundreds of trips up and down the hill. We have put some
