Warm weather and favourable breezes brought the racers out. A handicap fleet involving Optimists to Lasers enjoyed some competitive racing. The Lasers in particular had a number of hard fought battles. In the middle of the fleet the Miracle, GP14 and Enterprise contested the marks with gusto. It was the end of the Spring series and the race and series results will be available shortly.

We were blessed with very sporting winds on Sunday. A slightly slow start out of the car park, changed into an almost Le Mans style frenetic activity by the time we saw the wind - the lake was calling and we were keen to answer. The briefest of checks of the race course and away we go. Some seemed to take the whole race thing to another level, checking their boat was sparkling

Our Junior sailors are coming on leaps and bounds through the onboard program we have been offering every Saturday. This week we were able to congratulate six of our sailors on achieving their RYA stage 1 and two sailors on achieving their RYA stage 2. We are looking forward to awarding more stages in the coming weeks to some of our other sailors who are close on their heels.

Owing to the weather on Saturday the scheduled RYA onboard course was postponed to the Sunday which meant that the shore line was particularly busy with lots of young sailors hitting the water for the first time. The wind was a variable on Sunday but the students were able to get out for both morning and afternoon sessions and with club members sailing as well it was a great sight to see so many boats

This weekend saw our first family sail weekend of the season. In spite of the cold and in some cases bizarre weather conditions (sunny and clear one minute to snowing the next) the adult and child learners made excellent progress well beyond the skills required to gain a stage or level one. The instructors were very impressed with the sailing skills developed over the weekend and hope that the learners will continue with the club

It was a busy day up at the club today with a lot of members new and old getting their boats out for the season. Despite the low wind conditions we also managed to run the inaugural race of the season. It was great to get out in the sunshine and see so many people enjoying their sailing and paddle boarding.

Light winds this week but we got out in 5 boats and a SUP in the afternoon, it was great winds for testing out the kit after the long winter break and fine tuning the rigging for the season to come. Members also used the light wind day to work on a variety of jobs around the site and we got to marvel at the new shed which is now fully in place and ready

Wow, today at Grassholme was quite exciting. A moderate to stiff south westerly breeze enticed some onto the water. Others having studied the weather forecast decided that doing work on shore was more to their liking. By the time Richard, Finn and Ian were ready to go the wind had settled to a challenging force four to five. Richard, with Finn, launched first in Richards Laser EPS. Closely shadowed by the safety boat they fizzed across

The initial work on the reservoir is beginning to come to a close and they think it will still be ready by the end of the year in order to allow it to refill . We have a central tarmac strip with a 'T' join onto the top of our new ramp - it's looking great (in my opinion). Our place that we used to tack up has now been extended to provide disabled parking, with
